Couple confused after unexpected finds in new home attic

Send Push

A couple were left confused after finding dozens of items in the attic of their new home. Ebonie and her partner, from Essex, who post videos under the TikTok handle @thereno_at48, moved into their new home earlier this year.

They have described the 1920s home as being the "worst on the street" and have been working for months to renovate the property room by room. The semi-detached home was left in a a poor condition by the previous owner, including lots of items and furniture.

Despite moving into the home earlier this year, it wasn't until recently that the couple decided to head into the loft and take a look at the bags and boxes left behind by previous owners.

The couple shared some of the items they found in a series of TikTok videos.

The first few boxes they pulled from the loft included books, old jewellery boxes with necklaces and earrings inside, wooden ornaments and an incense burner.

Some of the items were wrapped in newspaper dating back to 1997, while other items suggest they could have been there from 1993.

Also in the loft was an old fashioned mustard yellow suitcase which contained a wedding dress and retro baby clothes, and a book of stamps from 1997.

There was also a Moses basket wrapped in a bin bag along with a giant wasp, which was over half the size on Ebonie.

After posting the videos on TikTok, one user said: "This is too personal. Please message them to see if they want these back."

Ebonie replied: "I’m going to do a story time on this. A full loft was left and loads of other items in the house. She came back to get them didn’t realise she had so much stuff and we put it out the front for her to get and she never came back.

"Bin men threw half her stuff three days later.. I don’t know where she lives but it’s less than 15 mins walk away. I have no details for her.. and she’s made no effort to come back for anything."

Under another comment she said: "She knows it’s here.. we’ve been here five months she never came back."

Others commented to let Ebonie know that some of the items she found could be worth more than she thought.

One user said: "Vintage baby clothes are worth money."

Another added: "Vintage baby clothes can make a good amount of money btw."
